The Construction Aid is located on the top-right of the user interface:

The construction aid offers various tools for drawing geometric features on the map, which serve as aids for the construction of redline, dimensioning, or measure features.

Button Description
Remove construction.png Allows to remove one or all construction aided geometries. There are two different options:

Remove construction detail.png

Lengthening construction.png Allows you to draw a line alongside an existing geometry. You can also define a specific distance and you can also lock it with a click on Unlocked sign.png.
Point construction.png Allows you to draw a point in the map. Either on any arbitrary position in the map or you can choose some options, where your point should be drawed.

If you click on the arrow right beside the Point button in the Construction Aid a drop down menu opens, where you have also the possibility to load a point file.

Blue.pngThere are two different file formats allowed here. .gpx and .egpx. The last one offers you the possibility to have your .gpx file not in geographic coordinates but in cartesic coordinates (= mostly projected coordinates).

Circle construction.png Allows you to draw a circle in the map. Either with any arbitrary radius, by holding the left mouse button and panning on the map or you can define a specific radius and you can also lock it with a click on Unlocked sign.png.
Polyline construction.png Allows you to draw a polyline in the map. Either with any arbitrary distance and angle, by holding the left mouse button and panning on the map or you can define a specific distance and or angle and you can also lock it with a click on Unlocked sign.png.

If you click on the arrow right beside the Polyline button in the Construction Aid a drop down menu opens, where you have also the possibility to draw a polyline with a relation, which means you can start drawing a polyline on an existing geometry.

Arc construction.png Allows you to draw a arc within the map.

If you click on the arrow right beside the Arc by tangents button in the Construction Aid a drop down menu opens, where you have also the possibility to draw a Arc by 3 points or Arc by center.

Buffer construction.png Allows you to draw a buffer around an existing geometry.

If you click on the arrow right beside the Parallel to segment button in the Construction Aid a drop down menu opens, where you have also the possibility to draw an Element buffer, which means there is a linejoin at the start and at the end of the geometry. You can also draw a Segment relations, which means the buffer gets only drawed for specific geometries.

Dimensioning construction.png Allows you to use the dimensioning method Orthogonal Absolute and Orthogonal Difference as a construction aid layer.
Blue.pngDetails can be found here respectively here.
