The Perpendicular snapping tool Snap perpen icon.PNG allows you to snap one feature line to an other where the two lines are exactly perpendicular (right-angle). The following graphic shows an example of perpendicular snapping. The goal is to split a land parcel into two pieces, where the end point of the new separation line has to be perpendicular to the bottom line of the land parcel:

Snap to the bottom line. The line is drawn exactly orthogonal to the bottom line.

To snap to the perpendicular point of the bottom line, move the mouse cursor along the bottom line until the Snap perpen symbol.png symbol appears. Then click on that point to finalize the orthogonal line.
