The Bookmark-Manager is located on the Legend panel in the Legend Window. Click Open bookmark quick selection in the legend header to open the Bookmark-Manager.

The Bookmark-Manager can be used to manage user-defined map configurations. You can save your current map settings, that is, the map extract and contents, at any time and then call them back again at a later date. Current bookmarks are listed in the text area beneath the bookmark menu header. Additionally, the Bookmark-Manager contains commands to create, delete, import, and open the bookmarks. These commands are located on the bottom of the window:



Add a new bookmark

To add a new bookmark, click Bookmark add icon.png to open the New bookmark form:

In the two textboxes of the New bookmark, you can specify the name of the bookmark and an associated description of the bookmark. Beneath the textboxes, there are eight check boxes where you can specify which settings should be incorporated within the bookmark.

The following table gives a description of each command of the New bookmark form:


New bookmark form
Name of bookmark The specification of a name is mandatory. Bookmarks of the same name are

overwritten. '$default$' is reserved for the last 'Last map saved (AUTOSAVE)'.

Description of bookmark The description is optional. You can use it to state which area

the bookmark maps and its scale and contents.

Visible featureclasses Check if the visibility status of the feature classes and working levels should be included within the bookmark.
Active featureclasses Check if the active status of a feature class should be adopted to the bookmark.
Center of the map Check if the center of the map extract should be saved.
Scale Check if the scale of the map extract should be included within the bookmark.
Scale dependancy Check if scale dependency should be incorporated within the bookmark.
Translucency Check if the level of transparency of the feature classes should be adopted to the bookmark.
Mode of presentation Check if the presentation mode should be saved.
Display Order Check if the display order of the feature classes should be saved.


Click OK to finalize the bookmark. The bookmark will be added to the main list:

Available options for the bookmark

Right click on a bookmark and a few options are viewed to edit the selected bookmark.

Open bookmark.png Opens the selected bookmark.
Edit bookmark.png Edits the selected bookmark.
Delete bookmark.png Deletes the selected bookmark. You have to confirm the deletion with Yes.
Copy bookmark.png Copies the selected bookmark. Bookmark add form2 1.png
Export bookmark.png Exports the selected bookmark. Then you choose the directory, where the .bookmark file should be stored. Confirm the choice with Export.
Share bookmark.png Shares the selected bookmark with all users in the same project. The bookmark is moved to the administration schema and deleted from the local disc.

The Import icon.png command allows you to import bookmarks. To import a bookmark, select the directory, where the .bookmark file is stored and click Open.

Bookmark open icon.png allows you to open existing bookmarks. To open a bookmark, select the respective entry in the bookmark list and then click Bookmark open icon.png:

If you are finished, click Close icon.png to close the Bookmark-Manager window.
